Terms of Service
Last updated: July 22, 2026
These terms govern your use of proofsteady.com and the Proofsteady platform, operated from Calgary, AB, Canada. If your organization has a signed order form or subscription agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence over these terms where they differ.
The service
Proofsteady is a continuous compliance automation platform: it connects to systems you authorize, tests security controls, collects evidence, and supports your compliance, security-posture, and related programs.
Proofsteady supports your compliance work; it does not provide legal advice, does not certify you against any framework, and does not guarantee the outcome of any audit, assessment, or insurance application. Those decisions belong to your auditor, certification body, or insurer.
Accounts and acceptable use
Keep your account information accurate and your credentials safe. Only connect systems you are authorized to connect, and only provide credentials you are entitled to use. Don't attempt to breach, probe, or overload the service, access another tenant's data, or reverse engineer the platform.
Your data
You own the data you bring and the data collected from your connected systems. You grant us the rights needed to process it solely to provide the service. We do not sell it and do not use it to train AI models. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Confidentiality
Each side protects the other's non-public information with at least the care it uses for its own, and uses it only as needed to use or provide the service.
Intellectual property
We own the platform, and no rights transfer to you other than the right to use the service. If you send us feedback, we can use it to improve the product without obligation.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Term, suspension, and termination
Paid subscriptions run per their order form. We may suspend access for security reasons or material breach, with notice where practical. On termination you can export your data, after which we delete it per the Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.
